Port


A connector on the back of (or inside) your computer for attaching devices such as a keyboard, mouse, printer, modem, plotter, scanner, monitor, and hard drive. Common ports are: (a) parallel (LPT1, LPT2), generally used for printers; (b) serial (COM1, COM2), used by mouse devices, modems, scanners; and (c) SCSI (Small Computer Standard Interface), used by hard drives and other devices.
