Our history of
entrepreneurial spirit
Humble beginnings
Taylor Corporation started out as a single small business in North Mankato, Minnesota. The story began in 1959 when Glen Taylor was looking for a way to support his family while he went to school to become a teacher. Bill Carlson, owner of Carlson Wedding Services, offered him a job.
Taylor loved a challenge, had ideas to make things better and the drive to get things done. He worked almost every job at the plant, allowing him to really learn the business. Listening to what his customers wanted, he developed new ways to cut delivery times, improve service and expand the company’s product offerings.
Industry leadership
Within ten years, Taylor helped double the size of Carlson Craft. During this time Taylor was able to buy a minority share of the business and began making plans to someday buy the company.
Taylor purchased Carlson Wedding Service in 1975 as the foundation for what would become Taylor Corporation. He assembled a passionate leadership team and dramatically expanded the firm’s capabilities.
Growth through acquisitions
Through organic growth and acquisitions, Taylor took over the wedding industry and led the way in variable data printing and personalized marketing. In the process, Taylor Corporation created numerous industry-changing process innovations.
Today, this diversified global company continues to grow, delivering an unmatched line of consumer retail marketing products, services and technologies.
