Taylor is committed to conducting business in an
environmentally responsible manner.
Taylor has earned national recognition for its commitment to
sustainability by following a three-pronged approach grounded in
responsible sourcing, recycling and resource management.
Taylor is dedicated to managing natural resources responsibly, being good corporate citizens, and ensuring the health and safety of employees, clients and visitors. We set sustainability goals annually, assess our progress and report the results in our Sustainability Scorecard.
We’re committed to operating our business in a sustainable manner and making it easy for our customers and employees to make a difference as it relates to the environment. In this report we record our achievements during the previous year.
A sense of responsibility for the conservation of natural resources and the health and safety of employees, customers, vendors and visitors is at the heart of our company policy.
Taylor is proud to be one of the first U.S. companies to embrace recycled fabrics as our standard offering for signs, graphics and display products.
Taylor’s signs and graphics solutions offer the world’s only certified recycled acrylic. Recrylic can be used for virtually any display or merchandising fixture that would normally use non-recycled acrylic.
We offer many alternatives to traditional plywood, styrene and EPVC, including fast-growing bamboo, biodegradable corn starch-based products and rigid papers made of recycled materials.
Our banner and hanging graphic solutions are made from recycled PET (e.g., pop bottles) fabric and cellulose-based banner materials, preventing tons of acrylic, vinyl and PVC waste.
We provide LED lights that consume less energy, reduce heat emissions and have longer life spans than incandescent light bulbs.
Taylor provides packaging options that boost sustainability by requiring less resources, increasing versatility and containing more eco-friendly components.
Taylor’s flexible packaging solutions help you reduce your impact on the environment with recyclable and components that reduce waste and lower emissions.
We offer custom shrink sleeves that provide several environmental advantages in addition to their increased shelf-appeal, brand protection and versatility.
Our folding carton packaging is biodegradable and renewable by nature, giving you an immediate advantage in sustainability compared to competitors using plastic packaging.
Taylor provides raw materials that improve label sustainability, and continually invests in recyclable substrates and advances in label press technology.
Taylor’s thin-stock labels are specifically engineered to reduce total thickness while preserving overall performance. Our label constructions are up to 50% thinner than conventional labels.
Our earth-friendly shelf labels contain up to 30% post-industrial recycled content, making them significantly thinner and lighter than most vinyl shelf labeling products.
Taylor’s linerless labels can be cut to the exact length needed for each label, eliminating wasted white space between labels. Linerless rolls are longer, lighter and take up less storage space.
To ensure proper recycling, labels must be easily removed from packaging. We offer adhesives that soften during the recycling process and eventually remove themselves from PET packaging.
Taylor has worked with several of the world’s largest brands to produce more eco-friendly gift cards without sacrificing brand integrity.
Taylor’s paper gift cards can replicate the look and feel of traditional plastic cards, but without the waste that plastic generates. They can be surface printed, coated and embellished in the same ways.
Our card packaging solutions are designed to remove as much plastic and other forms of waste as possible. One of the most popular and promising packaging options is blisterless packaging.
We offer gift card enhancements and embellishments that do not impact card recyclability. Taylor researches each component of your gift cards to ensure you have the best alternative options.
Taylor’s opt-in recycling program for fabric and rigid graphics helps to keep obsolete materials out of landfills. Simply send the unwanted item to Taylor using a shipping label that we provide. We work with an independent third-party who can recycle the item and transform it into something else. Taylor can even provide data on your shipments that can be used for your ESG scorecard.
Taylor is one of the first U.S. companies to embrace recycled fabrics as its standard offering for signs, graphics and display products. Each square meter of rSERIES™ fabric removes up to 36 plastic water bottles from the waste stream. Best of all, it offers the same look as traditional fabric at the same price. The rSERIES can be used in SEG, banner stands, table throws, outdoor sail flags and more.
Taylor’s Recrylic® recycled acrylic sheeting — the world’s only line of certified recycled acrylic — helps to reduce carbon emissions by up to 90% across a wide range of fixtures, displays and signs. Recrylic looks like comparable non-recycled acrylic products at the same price point. It can then be recycled after use — allowing the cycle to continue.
Twenty-three U.S. production facilities have obtained certifications with the Forest Stewardship Council® and/or Sustainable Forestry Initiative®. Through FSC® and SFI® chain of custody systems, we help customers demonstrate their commitment to responsible forest management and label their products with the FSC® or SFI® trademark.
Taylor carefully manages our fiber sourcing to avoid ancient and endangered forest regions, including North America’s boreal forest, coastal temperate rainforests and Indonesian rainforests.
Through a focused effort, Taylor was able to recycle more than nearly 28,000 tons of waste materials in 2024 (paper, plastic, metals, electronics, etc.), representing approximately 75% of our total waste tonnage.
Taylor diverted more than 4,300 tons of non-recyclable waste in 2024, yielding a diversion-from-landfill rate of 87%. We have 10 “landfill free” locations and another 13 sites send a portion of their waste to waste-to-energy outlets.
Our main products include label and paper converting, using minimal water. Effluents from Taylor facilities are sent to local municipal treatment plants for recycling, with all necessary permits in place.
Decades ago we stopped using petroleum-based inks in offset printing and adopted vegetable (soy) based inks instead. This transformation from alcohol/solvent-based to synthetic-based material is much safer for employees and the environment. We also purchase carbonless paper that uses vegetable-based carbonless capsules.
