Conversations with Glen Taylor: S3: E8 - Schmidt

Video

In this video, we learn of Glen’s partnership with Al Tuttland and the acquisition of Schmidt Printing.

A Perfect Partnership

In this episode of the Conversations with Glen Taylor video series, Glen recounts how a speech he made in Rochester caught the attention of Al Tuttland, the owner of Schmidt Printing, which led to a discussion about Al's desire to expand his business. Tuttland saw a potential fit with Glen's leadership style and vision, recognizing that Glen understood his dedication and goals for Schmidt Printing. Al expressed his willingness to sell the company to Taylor, highlighting the alignment in their business strategies and market positioning. The trust between Glen and Al was pivotal in the acquisition deal, where Al promised a profitable return within five years. Glen's gut decision-making and ability to trust his instincts led him to acquire Schmidt Printing, despite initial hesitations about the price. The transition post-acquisition was smooth, with key members from Al's management group being promoted to leadership roles.
